NEURO-PERFORMANCE VOCAL COACHING

A Brain-based approach to the voice

Neuro-performance vocal training is a powerful, science-based supplement to traditional vocal pedagogy. It shifts the focus from just "how" you sing to why your system responds the way it does, by tapping into the power of neuroplasticity, your brain’s innate ability to reorganize and adapt.

Often, singers are held back by tension, vocal fatigue, or performance anxiety. These aren't just technical flaws; they are protective responses from a nervous system that doesn't feel entirely safe. Whether rooted in past stressors, physical imbalances, or high-pressure environments, the key to moving past these limitations is giving your nervous system the specific input it needs to release that protection.

If you’ve explored neurology before but found it overwhelming, you’ll find this approach refreshingly direct and applicable. You will gain actionable tools designed to help you see and feel immediate change in your vocal output.

Is this for you?

If you’ve ever felt like your voice has a mind of its own - performing beautifully in the practice room but locking up the moment you step on stage - you’re in the right place. I work with singers who are tired of "trying harder" and are ready for a path that actually feels good.

This approach is designed for you if:

  • You want to refine your foundation and discover just how much more ease, range, and resonance your voice can produce.

  • You’re stuck in a cycle of tension. You’ve tried every vocal exercise, but that "squeeze" or "reach" just won't go away.

  • You’ve hit a technical ceiling. You know you have more range and more colors, but your system won't let you access them.

  • Performance anxiety feels physical. It’s not just "nerves" - your breath catches, your throat tightens, and your technique fails you.

Whether you are a seasoned pro, a semi-pro, or a motivated beginner: if you are seeking a way to sing that feels free, authentic, and connected to your own body - this approach is about meeting your system where it is.

Training at the source & why it works

Most vocal restrictions don't actually start in the vocal folds; they start in the communication lines between your brain and your body.

Your nervous system has one primary job: survival, not performance. When your brain senses "threat", whether from an old injury, physical imbalance, or high-pressure stress, it pulls the safety brake. This is what creates that "stuck" feeling, the sudden loss of control, or a technique that feels unreliable the moment you need it most.

Refining your internal navigation

To perform with true freedom, your brain needs a high-definition map of your body. If that map is blurry, your system stays in a state of protection. We refine the three pillars that drive your vocal output:

  • The Visual System: How your eyes influence your brain’s sense of safety and stability.

  • The Vestibular System: The internal "thermostat" that regulates your muscle tone and posture.

  • Proprioception: Your brain’s ability to accurately sense your voice and body in space.

By using targeted neuro-drills, we clear the static in these channels. We release the brake and create a high-speed connection between your brain and your voice, allowing for immediate change you can actually feel.

Training singers as athletes

Understanding how your nervous system influences your voice is only the first step. I translate this science into elite performance. I believe this is the future of vocal pedagogy: a shift from looking at the voice in isolation to training the entire human system.

The foundations of my coaching are rooted in the laws of functional neurology, the same principles used by Olympic athletes to optimize performance and maximize physical resilience. By integrating insights from neurology, biomechanics, and sports science, we push the boundaries of what is physically and artistically possible on stage.

We stop guessing and start building a system that delivers, every single time.

It’s not about working harder. It’s about training smarter, with your nervous system as your greatest ally.

LET’S TRAIN

The Single Session

  • An intensive 60-minute 1-on-1 session where we go straight to the core of your needs. This session is ideal for a targeted analysis of your vocal mechanics, identifying the right neurological input for a specific blockage, and experiencing the immediate impact of a brain-based approach.

  • Price: 90 euro (incl. VAT)

The Starter Pack (3 sessions)

  • Build the foundation. The ideal introduction new clients. Over three sessions, we map your system in detail, identify your primary neurological "brakes," and establish your personal set of neuro-drills.

  • Price: 265 euro (incl. VAT)

The Progress Pack (6 sessies)

  • For those who view their voice as their craft and are ready for a deep dive. Over 6 sessions, we optimize your visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems to maximize freedom and resilience. We move beyond troubleshooting and focus on building a high-resolution system.

  • Price: 530 euro (incl. VAT)

 FAQs

  • Absolutely. In fact, starting with a neurological foundation can prevent many of the technical struggles that singers often face later on. Whether you are professional or just starting out, your nervous system works the same way. We meet you exactly where you are in your vocal journey.

  • Traditional singing lessons often focus on motor commands: mechanical instructions like "lower your larynx" or "aim the sound forward." While well-intended, these conscious demands can often lead to a "fight" with your own body and unwanted tension.

In my sessions, we reverse the process by focusing on sensory input. We test what your nervous system specifically needs to feel safe - using tools like visual stimuli, vibration, or balance activation. Your voice acts as the ultimate compass: your output shows us immediately if the input was right. Is there instant ease and resonance? Then we’ve found the neurological key to your voice.

  • Think of it as an upgrade. Neuro-performance training doesn't replace vocal technique; it makes it more accessible. When your nervous system is balanced and feels safe, your existing technical skills can finally function without the interference of chronic tension.

  • Neurological changes happen incredibly fast. Many singers experience an immediate change in range, ease, or vocal clarity after applying the right "neuro-drill." However, to make these changes permanent and automatic, consistent practice and multiple sessions are recommended.

  • I offer sessions both in-person in Antwerp and online through Zoom. Because we focus on neurological inputs, the drills and assessments are highly effective in a virtual setting as well.

  • No, neuro-performance coaching is not a medical treatment. While we use principles from functional neurology and sports science, my work is focused on optimizing performance and vocal mechanics. If you are experiencing chronic pain, pathology (such as vocal folds nodules), or other medical issues, I always recommend consulting a doctor or ENT first. This training is an excellent addition to, but not a replacement for, medical or clinical speech therapy.

  • I value our time together. If you need to reschedule or cancel your session, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be charged in full.
